Bridgewater-Raritan High School

This is the first of many containers that Bridgewater-Raritan High School converted with Homes of Living Hope. Students at the high school were able to have a hands-on learning experience, while creating something that would benefit people across the world.

Project Overview

“This project will run for 15-20 years which means if the project is run well, after 15 years over 20 thousand people will have benefited directly and indirectly from this container. Before this container, we didn’t have power, generator, computers, fridge, play equipment for kids, good sanitation, all these are in place due to one container.”-Francis Nyang, Project Recipient

About the recipient

The Hope Lives Elementary School opened its doors in 2013.  Built through a partnership of New Covenant Christian Centre in Lira, Uganda, and Cheyenne Hills Church in Cheyenne, Wyoming, the school now educates more than 500 children from the preschool “Baby” class to the Primary 7 class. The teachers are well-qualified and experienced, and certified under Ugandan law, and the entire staff is committed to Hope Lives being the best school in northern Uganda. The school is a great success – 100% of  Hope Lives Primary 7 students have passed Uganda’s national promotion exam for secondary education – a pass rate far better than most Ugandan schools.
